Health Policy Passion Statement
My academic journey in Optometry (BSc) and Public Health (MPH) has shaped my deep commitment to improving community health through evidence-based policy and advocacy. While working on my graduate research on the association between occupational exposure and eye disease patterns, I witnessed firsthand how social determinants and workplace conditions can create profound health disparities. This experience reinforced my belief that addressing root causes through policy change is as critical as clinical interventions.
I am particularly passionate about health equity, environmental health, and AI-driven health policy solutions, as I believe these areas hold the potential to transform health systems sustainably. I am eager to contribute to Voice Up’s mission by combining my research skills, community engagement experience, and cross-disciplinary knowledge to develop policies that center the voices of affected communities.
By integrating scientific evidence with compassionate advocacy, I aspire to work on initiatives that expand healthcare access, reduce preventable diseases, and create systemic changes that last beyond individual interventions. Voice Up’s commitment to global health equity resonates strongly with my own professional vision of creating meaningful, measurable improvements in public health.
