2005-2006 Director of Development Benedictine Ministries Corporation (part time) Responsible for the operation of the downtown and airport location of the Alamo USO, with a budget of $300K. Directing the Annual Corporate campaign for securing the operating expenses of the USO. Give presentations about the USO to volunteer groups in the San Antonio area. Supervise a staff of five personnel and over 100 volunteers.
Responsible for establishing $100K annual support to Omega Retreat Center.
Establish two special events functions dedicated to supporting the retreat center. Assist Benedictine Ministries in $4M Capital campaign for new spirituality center.
2004 Director of Major Gifts Air Force Villages Charitable Foundation
Responsible for the quiet phase of a $12M capital campaign for Widow Support and
Freedom House for AFV Charitable Foundation. Work with a campaign steering
Committee and Board to secure sponsorship for the campaign.
2000-2004 Director of Development Society of St. Vincent de Paul
Responsible for the public awareness of the plight of the homeless in San Antonio. Specifically
to develop financial sponsors within the community who believe it is their responsibility to assist
in this worthwhile cause. Coordinate the Annual Fund Campaign and cultivate major donors for
the future Capital Campaign. Creating and training a force of volunteers to actively solicit funds
for the Society. Developing a follow-up process of thank you and lead generation from present
donors. Conduct tours of the shelter. Prepare grant requests.
2000-2009 Commandant of Cadets San Antonio Academy of Texas (part time)
Preparing cadets in leadership, mentoring, and care for other cadets in the program. Prepare cadets for
military functions such as formal inspections, military formations, and military ball.
2000-2005 Adjunct Professor of Fundraising University of Texas, San Antonio
1995 – 1999 Development Director Central Catholic High School
Responsible for the outside sales effort to retain donors for Texas’ largest and oldest, private high
school. Donor cycle included strategic targeting of donors, leads generation, alumni relationships
and completing the sales cycle through to closure.
Created Alternate “donor” channels by establishing alumni chapters in Houston, Dallas, Austin, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
