To reduce the CPU utilization of the Mainframe the concept of Maintaining the most re-use data while retrieval from operational flow from DB2 tables needs to be maintained at one place (AAR) Performance tables daily. While retrieval of data the record will be passed from Performance tables instead of Operational tables for Matching case. Different Event Triggers are created and maintained on Db2 tables and master records such as Insert, Update, delete to maintain consistency of AAR and operational.
Generated, reviewed, and troubleshot COBOL program errors with IBM Developer for z/OS application.

As part of Statefarm Insurance Project a part was migrating from host to AWS. Worked on re-engineering of Cobol programs and creating technical specification documents. My role was to estimate the time required to re-engineer Cobol /PL1 codes and as per its complexity. I used tools like CA7, SAR and JCL, COBOL,DB2, Kanban. Worked also in tool migration from SAFR tool to DVM tool. Worked in analysing the code to find the impact of tool migration. My role was to analyse the impact of moving from file to table system and the output reports remain unaffected.

Vantage was the insurance product used for policy administration, and I worked for the maintenance, development, support and enhancement activities related to critical US life insurance projects. We fix the policy issues in admin cycles and developed report for client by reading the vantage tables. Admin processes all the transactions executed by the agents or the users. There are tools like abend aid, endevor, CA7, SAR which makes the work easier.
Vantage had 2 teams’ life and annuity. I was a part of Life team. I used to do Quick hits (quick analysis and fixes) and some minor enhancements as a part of BTO team i.e. Kanban team. I was also a part of production support team which monitors the production cycle, and I have also helped in resolving few of the issues. I was also involved in month end and weekend activities required by the client. I suggested an automated process in which the role of developer got reduced as this was business process and previously, they had to wait for 5 days.
