Accomplishments include: The first woman pastor of church; implemented children’s period during morning service; developed church programs to foster fellowship with other churches; started vacation bible school; developed “neighbor watch program” designed to encourage church member’s to care for and check on elderly members; and organized church’s first health fair; implemented rotating leadership program where dutiful members were selected to lead church annual days and implemented weekly Wednesday night Bible Study.

ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY, INC., Memphis, TN; 2021 – Present; Chaplain with general oversight of spiritual care of local Beta Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., provide monthly Meditation(Homilies) for all Chapter Meetings and Programs, led Chapter to compile and produce a Women’s Devotional; edited and participated in compilation of Women’s Prayer Book and coordinated and directed an annual Women’s Conference from 2021-2024.

Duties included various pulpit assignments including preaching, call to worship, leading responsive readings, scripture reading and altar prayer; preaching for Dr. Parker as a substitute in his absence and serving communion. Introduced, developed and implemented the first Summer Camp program; taught Primary Children’s Class; assisted with the restructuring of Sunday School; facilitated Christian Education meetings, seminars and workshops; reviewed educational programs and materials as a member of the Christian Education Department; participated in Thursday night Bible Study.

Duties included various pulpit assignments including preaching, call to worship, leading responsive readings, scripture reading and altar prayer and preaching in Rev. Whalum’s absence; baptizing; serving communion; taught orientation class, “What Baptist Believe”, participating in preaching training meetings; preaching during women’s month activity. I was a member of Olivet prior to accepting my call and was involved in various church auxiliaries including the Usher Board, POWER Committee designed to ease the transition of members into membership with Olivet; taught orientation classes, member of the Courtesy Committee designed to welcome members and to invite them to join Olivet, taught Intermediate Boys Class; member of March fellowship, participated in Sunday morning and Wednesday night Bible Study and assisted Rev. Whalum with various church assignments as requested.
