WORK EXPERIENCE

Department functional areas; Workflow from decontamination, preparation/assembling, sterilization, sterile storage, case cart to Operating Room.

Cleaning and decontamination of instrument in the dirty area where PPE is required.

Preparation, and packaging area where instruments are inspected, tested, and assembled into their appropriate trays using count sheet or tray list. Included inside the tray is internal Chemical Indicator (CI). Packaging material and sterilization/processing tape or external CI is used to enclosed it.

Sterilization of surgical instruments, storage, and handling of sterile products.

Cleaning, testing, assembling and distribution of movable patient care equipment.

Case Cart preparation using preference card or picklist to select required instruments and supplies and transport them to Operating Room (OR) or to the point of use.

The physical ability necessary to lift light and moderate weights and push heavy carts.

Effective Communication between OR and SPD

Interpersonal skills.
