Duties and Responsibilities.
Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons to transport and deliver cargo, materials, or damaged vehicle.
Maintains radio or telephone contact with base or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new location.
Maintains truck log according to state and federal regulations. Keeps record of materials and products transported. Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo for transport. Cleans, inspects, and services vehicle.
Operates equipment on vehicle to load, unload, or disperse cargo or materials. Obtains customer signature or collects payment for goods delivered and delivery charges. HEAVY VHICLE DRIVER

Duties and Responsibilities.
Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers

Duties and Responsibilities.
Get information about the vehicle you are servicing from the dispatcher via radio or phone. This information usually includes the vehicle make and model, color, location, the reason for towing and the driver's name. Drive the truck to the vehicle's location.
Speak with the customers to learn the details of the vehicle's problem. Then, explain the solution in simple language. You must be able to remain helpful and polite with dealing with customers who may be anxious, angry or otherwise upset.
Make simple repairs such as replacing flat tires or spark plugs, jumping batteries, and fixing disconnected or broken wires. If the problem is an empty fuel tank, provide a few gallons to get the customer to a safe place.
Attach cables, chains or other equipment and winch the vehicle to towing elevation or onto the truck flatbed. Connect any necessary lights to the back of the vehicle.
Tow the vehicle safely to the house, service station or impound or tow lot. You must observe all traffic laws and drive at a safe speed for the weather and road conditions.
Accept and record payments and provide a receipt. Note the services rendered, cost of the services and the payment method.
Create reports of each service call. These usually include the date, time and location of the service, information about the car, a description of the services you performed and the distance you towed the vehicle.

Duties and Responsibilities.
Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.

Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
