Volunteer/Community Experience
University of Wisconsin Milwaukee—Research Assistant
January 2017-Current
Dr. Underwood and I have dedicated our research to serving others, especially underrepresented communities. This includes Milwaukee’s Black, Hispanic and Muslim communities. We give out free foot care products, as well as provide information about the importance of foot care. Our team provides free clinical breast exams and we teach women the skills of a self-breast exam. We also work alongside Prevent Blindness by providing free eye exams. What makes our research project different is the fact that we go out into these communities ourselves to gather our data and providing the proper resources and information.
