I started each morning by gathering all the buckets of letters and magazines, that had already been route sorted, for my mail route. I strategically prepared the entire route (over 900 residents all rural mailboxes for street delivery) for an easy and timely delivery. I handled each piece of mail and put it into its allocated half inch slot (each address has its own half inch slot in the route case). I serviced over nine hundred and twenty residents/boxes/stops. Then I did the same thing with the larger items. After all this was in order, I pulled it down fast, but carefully, then pushed it out to my delivery vehicle, where I loaded it up for a timely and safe delivery. After going out on my route, and delivering for about eight hours, I would then collect all my incoming mail, and scan all barcodes for delivery completion, confirmation. It was my place to know the names of the current residents, and past residents. This kept mis deliveries down to a minimum. I did all this inside a nine-hour window, at most. I used the end of each day to resolve any complaints or delivery issues.
