Network Security Engineer Remote, Verizon New Smyrna Beach, FL January 2022 – present

• Design, build, and support the infrastructure for the Vulnerability Management Platform in Network Security, including the physical servers, VMware platform, storage arrays, scanners, and the other VMs running on the platform.

• Upgraded the VMware platform from 6.7 to 7.0.3 and later to 8.0.3.

• Created step by step documentation for other team members to install and configure the physical servers, including loading VMware and configuring into the existing clusters.

• Coordinated with vendors to install equipment and break/fix activities in remote data centers.

• Troubleshooting firewall access for scanners to reach into various networks within Verizon.

• Perform disaster recovery for all VMs on the platform using Veeam Backup and SAN snapshots.

• Design new changes and upgrades to the platform, product licensing, obtain quotes from vendors, yearly budgeting, and submit requests to purchasing for capital and expense budgets.
