To whom it may concern:

Please find below my resume in response to your job posting for Web Developer. As my resume will attest, I have over eighteen years’ experience developing, maintaining, and supporting web- based database applications, primarily ASP.NET and ASP applications using Microsoft SQL Server for database support. My administrative and programming experience comprises both the web front end, as well as the underlying database structure and functionality. An important part of my duties has involved the coordination of web and database projects with a small number of developers and administrators, and end user assistance.

Some of the types of web applications I have developed over the years include:

Complex participant screening system for Diagnose CTE study of NFL and college football players

Participant tracking systems for a variety of scientific research projects at Boston University/Boston Medical Center

Data management system for children/families exposed to domestic/community violence

General data collection for NIH-funded research projects

Laboratory animal inventory management software

Course evaluation submittal and reporting system for B.U. School of Public Health

Maintenance and enhancement of web content management system for B.U. Medical Campus

Online logistics system

In my career I have been exposed to the full cycle of software development, from design and implementation to testing and documentation, and have gained valuable experience in client interaction. I am at all times eager to delve into complex problems and to come up with imaginative solutions. I continuously strive to improve existing systems and to add new functionality. I am a meticulous planner when new projects arise, and am an adept detective when it comes to tracking down unexpected and unwanted behaviors in existing systems. I also have great leadership and communication skills, and am accustomed to working in a multiple-project environment.

I am looking for a challenging position in web application development, with the opportunity to build effective solutions to business needs, and to learn new and interesting technologies and techniques. It is in this regard that I submit to you my resume.
