BACKGROUND

My name is Tyrell(Ty) Termaine Redding. I grew up in New Mexico but I was born in the state of Indiana so I’m the all around average American guy who’s somewhat slightly sophisticated. I’m 31 years old and my hobbies include art, music, movies, travelling, hanging out with friends and dancing. I’ve done ballet and Spanish dance (Flamenco/Classical Spanish) for over ten years. Apart from studying in Spain for 4 months at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Sevilla, Spain I’ve also studied at Dongguk University for a year in Seoul, South Korea and stayed 4 more years teaching English, working in restaurants, modeling, etc. I’m fluent in English, Spanish and Korean. I’m currently dancing, living, and working in New York City and hope to attend graduate school in the fall at Hunter CUNY to earn my masters in dance education. I’m a very hardworking, exuberant, ambitious, fun, motivated, determined, driven, kind, etc individual who if given an opportunity will exceed beyond expectations.

This was probably one of my favorite jobs in Seoul, South Korea. During my time at Want to Speak and Public Point (same owner different locations) my responsibilities included fixing Korea college students/adults’ speaking, grammar, listening skills, etc. Some classes had themes such as a YouTube class, Netflix class, etc. I was asked to make my own material for some classes because apart from the fact that I was a native English speaker, the quality of the material that the academy provided wasn’t that good according to my students. However, after I decided one day to make material for my students they liked it more so my boss asked if I could continue to make material for the classes that I taught.

While I worked at EiE Korea University academy my job responsibilities included leading the phonics classes, teaching English, teaching grammar, fixing pronunciation and tutoring elementary school students. I would have worked here longer but due to the Corona virus my journey there was cut short.

During my time at Pamus Wisereaders my job responsibilities included leading/teaching phonics classes, regular English classes, fixing student’s speaking, pronunciation, grammar, etc. I taught large classes as well as private lessons too. At Kokua Education I subbed/long term subbed/taught at charter and private schools all over the city. At VAC Learn, I taught after school classes such as coding, entrepreneurship, STEM, photography, graphic design, etc at schools all over Manhattan. I spend most of my time teaching at The Town School and Hunter College in the upper eastside but also taught at St. Lukes in the West Village and Montessori in the upper west side of Manhattan as well.
