My most previous work experience was with State Farm. At State Farm I was a telemarketer and would call potential customers to offer insurances and services that were provided. While working at State Farm I was able to learn and improve my communication skills that helped me convince customers to let me provide them with a quote. I was also able to learn system skills in specific software like Guidewire PolicyCenter. I was able to help gain around 100 new customers in my time at State Farm. Another job that I worked at previously was Garmon Distributors. It is a packaging and shipping company that is in Choudrant, Louisiana. I would load FedEx, UPS, and USPS trucks while also stacking boxes in an organized and orderly way. I also went through the warehouse and picked the items that had been ordered and made sure the items were in the right spot. There were around 150 items stored in the warehouse and they ranged from starbursts to grass seed. Each package had a shipping label that said which delivery truck to put it on. I labeled every package and made sure they were sorted according to the label. Every label that got sent to the wrong truck costs the company $50. The packages that were mis-shipped was lowered by 40%.
