I have acquired TPR training (Temperature Pulse and Respiration) in Veterinary Medicine class as well as giving injections, bathing and grooming, and fecal float to various animals including dogs and cats. l was chosen by my Vet teacher and my Principal to give a small group of eighth graders a tour around Temple High School, I have volunteered to do a haunted house that was hosted by the CTE classes and teachers at my high school, and I volunteered at the FFA petting zoo that my high school hosted for charity where I handled admission fees for the petting zoo.

●Helping the patients get better, giving their medications at the right time, maintaining their fluid intake and making sure that it is at the right fluid level.

●Running all types of bloodwork in regarding to the patients health as well as sending out lab work as needed.

●In advanced animal science we studied the internal and external anatomy of various animals in the veterinary field.
●In vet. Med. Applications, we have learned more about being a veterinary assistant/ technician. We’ve learned about the different parasites and where they come from, how to draw up and give vaccines properly, which needles to use, the anatomy of the syringe, restraint holds on the animals, cleaning protocols, communication with clients, practicing blood draws.
●At the end of the year we took a test that determined if we were moving on to the next class which was vet practicum.
Temple High School - Veterinary Practicum
August 2017 - June 2018
●Going to different clinics to get our hours for the end of the year and practicing what we’ve learned in class in an actual clinic.
●Giving shots to the animals after surgery, drawing up vaccines for the animals, intubating the animal after they are down for surgery, trimming nails, expressing anal glands, and restraining the animal for blood draws.
●At the end of the year those in the practicum class take a test to get our Certified Veterinary Assistant Certificate.

I was awarded for the A & B Honor Roll for every six weeks of school and commended on my Algebra I STAAR Test.
Current GPA is a 4.1 and ranked 121 out of a class size of 456.
I am in the National Honors Society program.
Scored a 98 on the test to get into the Veterinary Practicum class to later on get my CVA Certificate.
