VF Distribution Center – 5051 Carpenter Ave, Ontario, CA

•I usually work in decanting department. This is process

1.Wait for full case to come to my station via conveyer belt

2.Scan case barcode for number of units inside to appear on computer screen

3.Open case to scan label of one of units inside for computer to say how many to put in one plastic tote

4.Pick that number of units and loaded into tote, or if all units too big to fit, split quantity and send totes on their way as soon each full

5.As soon as case empty, finish decanting and repeat process

This data then goes to another area called clearing so they know what’s next, and onto reports. This job involves lots of arithmetic and accuracy. Other coworkers and one supervisor in this area say I work fast without making many or any errors. Supervisor, if giving actual vs expected scores to each decanter, usually tells me I decant the most cases in the department.
