Developed interpretive programs for presentation at the main visitor center, Riley Creek Campground and Teklanika Campground. The presentation itself lasted 30 minutes, while the visitor interaction before often took as long. The question and answer period afterwards lasted as long as needed, based on visitor feedback. Primarily, my presentations focused on bear awareness, specific information about the grizzly bear (Ursus Arctos) and general woodland and wildlife safety.
Performed roving patrols through campgrounds to ensure visitor compliance with park regulations and policies. Duties also included looking for public hazards such as wildlife, fire or other unsafe conditions. Interacted with park visitors, ensuring they understood the unique environmental conditions they would be facing in the Alaskan interior.
Controlled access into the park at the Savage River check station. In addition, give a brief presentation to all bussed visitors before they crossed into the interior of the park. Prepared all visitors for the total communication blackout they would be experiencing while enjoying the park.
Familiar with the use of radios as they were the only means of communication available within the park. Logged access into and out of the park on official government records. Elevated problems to the proper authority as needed or prescribed by law.

In addition to routine duties, I was involved with the set up and tear down of tables and chairs for special events.
