Volunteer Experience:
School Principal and Teacher in Islamic
Center of El Paso (ICEP)
As soon as I graduated from graduate school, one of my goals was to instill moral virtues, good behaviors, and ethics to my community through teaching children
reading the Holy book; There was no such learning
capability in the community. I decided to establish a school that I have started meeting with the children once a week for two and half hours the first year. The school named “Iqra”, started to progress noticeably. By the third year, the school was successfully recognized among community members; The number of students
enrolled was over 40 students that have distributed into 5 different levels and consequently 8 teachers were volunteer to participate in building the foundation of the school. I have participated in building a system for the school that includes lesson plans, needed applications, code of conduct, disciplinary plan, etc. Besides,
implementing a new approach of learning through
interactions between students and playing games to the school syllabus and continue investing my time in the school until present time. In addition, the school was determined to continue teaching virtually during covid time.
