Patient Placement Coordinator, Adventhealth, Orlando, FL
July 2016 to March 2022
Team leader in coordinating physician conferences regarding patient admissions. Assigning each patient to the appropriate unit and obtaining a bed assignment. Arranging safe medical transport for the patient from their facility to the patient room.
Having a global perspective, in a dynamic environment, of the expected admissions and discharges. Utilizing real time analysis to ensure a smooth flow of patient transfers. A team huddle occurs when needed to reassess if anything is requiring more attention and updates on bed status and where we can plan for admissions as discharges occur.
The Transfer Center is a fast-paced environment requiring multitasking. There can be a dozen calls pending on Doctor’s return call so we can conference them. Then you have to record the conference by typing as they speak. The phones are always active with other calls. You must act as a resource about policy when situations seem gray without a clear path forward.
