My major GPA as a history major was a 3.62, with many intensive writing classes with high levels of academic rigor. My overall GPA was a 3.425, indicating versatility outside my primary fields of study. The analytical samples attached to the interest form speak to my skill at writing. Additionally to the classes in-major, the classes I took out-of-major that relied on intensive writing (namely: Politics of the American South and Intro to Legal Studies) were strong subjects.
Attention to Detail
In my previous jobs in foodservice, I kept a sharp eye out for mislabeled food and safety hazards, and ensured that where those hazards existed, they got fixed. I was persistent in the rectification of mistakes, using even the little influence I had within my work place to protect the safety of both my colleagues and our customers. In doing so, I have saved lives by ensuring that allergens were labeled properly.
Research
Additionally to the above references to my academic career, I both enjoy and excel at research. I spend much of my free time researching news stories and corroborating sources against each other in an effort to see around certain narratives and walk away with a more complete view of a story, and an understanding of the different narratives different organizations would like us to see.

Over three years of working experience in food service taught me the value of following procedures, as failure to follow health and safety procedures can have disastrous consequences for customers, and by extension, the organization itself.
