a) RAP (Relocation Action Plan) - Complete
Development of Kokiza village. Supervision of contractors, quality control, scheduling and tracking. Reporting, using MS Project, on a weekly and monthly basis, the progress on the construction of 4232 houses, schools and clinics, administration and business centres, churches and markets. This also included the associated infrastructure like roadworks and electrical reticulation. Over 15 local building construction and civils subcontractors were used. b) Roman Catholic Church complex - Complete
Quality control and supervision of local subcontractors on this complex which comprised a 3 storey 1600m2 church, primary and secondary schools, technical college, a nunnery and monastery as well as associated civil works - roads, water reticulation etc and a sports complex.
c) Senior and Junior Villages, Police Station, New Mine Administration Offices, Various Mine Buildings and Staff Accomodation Supervision and quality control of the construction and maintenance works done by local subcontractors.
d) Concrete Deck / Stone Masonry Bridges Along The Aru Doko Road Supervision of local contractors on the demolition and reconstruction of timber bridges. Construction of reinforced concrete deck bridges supported on masonry abutments and middle walls. 10 bridges were completed e) Maintenance of 286 km of gravel road and Doko Runway Quality control and supervision of local road maintenance contractors on the Aru – Doko road, Doko runway, Nzoro road and all the mine internal roads including the open pit access roads. The maintenance involved routine road condition monitoring, periodic laying of the wearing course to proper levels and compaction tests, opening of drains and installing new drainage systems where necessary and ensuring that the road surface was trafficable at all times. f) Durba Concrete Road - complete
Construction of a 5.2 km concrete road, 12m wide,a bridge and ancillary drainage works. This was quite a challenge as we had to work in sections, creating alternative deviation roads and lots of traffic management as we could not afford to close off completely the only access into town and beyond. g) MSA Laboratory - Complete
Construction of a new photon assay laboratory. This was done by local contractors under our guidance and supervision. A steel structure sitting on concrete stub columns with a chromadeck roof and cladding. h) Kalinva – Pamao Haul Road - complete
Construction of a 14 km, 23.5m wide haulage road to carry ore from Kalinva to the mine.

The work involved construction of a 5000 seater grandstand. There was a piling subcontractor. The rest of the work involved a concrete slab and reinforced concrete columns and beams. The seats were made of prestressed, precast concrete units with a steel structure for the roof. There were also some civil works viz water, sewer and parking areas and some public amenities like toilets around the stadium and access turnstiles.
