Summary of Experience Twenty-six years of experience in the Civil/Earthwork Estimating field. The majority of my experience is with DOT, Railroad, Army Corp, MATOC, Intermodal, Site Development, Commercial Earthwork and Design Build Civil Projects. I have additional experience in compiling estimates as the Prime Contractor for Civil Construction projects. Specifically, DOT, Intermodal/Rail Road and other Municipal Civil Projects.
Throughout my career I have been responsible for estimating a wide range of Civil Projects, including DOT work in multiple states such as Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota and North Carolina. I have experience estimating Intermodal Projects; in my career I estimated the Charlotte North Carolina Intermodal, the Birmingham Alabama Intermodal and Straus New Mexico Intermodal. I also have experience estimating dams, new landfill, landfill closure, data center, and large warehouse Projects. My responsibilities included subcontractor/material solicitation, writing work plans, schedules (MS Project & P6) and proposals.
Other responsibilities that I have been given include Project Engineering/Project Management. I was responsible for setting up projects in the companies View Point project management contract control software, reviewing and issuing subcontracts, PO’s, tracking daily production, reviewing and submitting submittals, compiling and submitting Quality Control Plans, Safety Plans and Using Primavera P6 and assembling submitting project schedules.
I am proficient in taking projects from conceptual pricing to hard-bid estimating. I have experience with cost analysis of projects, forecasting cost, vendor relations, evaluation of sub-contractor bids, and co-ordination of shop drawings with on-site conditions and contractors. On smaller projects I served as both estimator and project manager.
My experience as Chief Estimator included weekly bid schedules updates, managing a estimating team of five. Mentoring to younger estimators, bid reviews, quantity checks, and cycle time reviews. Tracking productions, building a production database, sub-contractor list. Preferred client list. Reviewing the MoDot and Kdot website for projects. Weekly reviewing of the KCMO, Drexell and other municipality websites for upcoming projects.

My senior estimating position is assigned to the environmental division (ENS). I am also a part of the Public Infrastructure Division. I currently have projects with three GP’s Water, ENS and Transportation. In my ENS role I have been estimating ash landfill closures, dewatering of ash landfills and water treatment of ash landfills and ash ponds. Other projects included wetland banks, soil removal that contain PCB’s. and MGP remediation. In my Water division role, I have led the estimating effort for our Westport Stormwater Improvement project. A Design/Build project that installs two large below grade detention basins, adds storm sewer down Mill Street from Jerimah Cameron Park north to Southwest Trafficway. Project includes, grading, sidewalk, curb, sanitary and water lines. I wrote work packages, contacted MBE/WBE contractors, ran preliminary cost estimates and comparative cost estimates. In my role with Transportation, I have been a part of the FDOT team that provides opinion of probable construction cost to FDOT. I am responsible for earthwork, storm, stabilization and aggregate base. My role includes cross section takeoff to quantity earthwork volumes, determine haul distance, build the earthwork and storm estimate and work with our project lead to combine estimates and come up with our construction cost. I utilize HCSS to put these estimates together and I use AGTEK for our earthwork quantification.
