I have worked in the retail part of the pharmacy helping type, fill medications. Assisted the customers and the pharmacy staff with all their needs. Answered multiple phone lines, faxed/called Dr’s offices etc. I then transitioned into work in the 795 and 800 lab. The 795 lab is non hazardous meds, while the 800 lab is hazardous drugs, like hormones and other medications that are deemed hazardous. We compound meds for human and also animals. We make creams, ointments, capsules, suppositories and troche. We use our specific recipe. We maintain a very clean and sterile workspace. My job signs off on the parts of it that I have already mastered.

I assist the main teacher with all needs to help her teach 15 Pre-K kids that we have in our class alone. Teach not only the general curriculum, but to teach them rules and make them understand and follow them. I feel that Pre-k is the foundation and is very important to their entire school path. Received calls from nursing and assisted living homes for refills for patients. Would process these requests and make sure they were filled and delivered correctly. Would work in all areas of the pharmacy as needed. Filled prescriptions, pre-packed meds, assisted pharmacist with entering orders. When I worked in the special part of the pharmacy that did cycled fills called automed for homes, I would receive orders from the homes via document imaging, enter them and have the pharmacist check before we ran the cycles. As part of entering the orders, we had to know what was allowed for certain homes and change meds and OTC items as needed. This would include calling the home and talking to the nursing staff, Director of nursing and also the doctor's office. At that point, when all meds were correct, we would run our fill list and start packing the meds. At times we would have to discontinue meds and credit the ones not used as well.

I was also the Clinical Technician for the pharmacy. With these job titles, I was in charge of maintaining the schedule for all the pharmacy techs. I ran daily reports as pharmacist needed. I was in charge of monthly inspections and had to make sure all staff had theirs done each and every month, by the end of the month. I made sure all technicians were in compliance with the state and pharmacy boards.
