Hi, I’m Audrey Patterson. I have been a nurse for 20+ years at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). I received my diploma in nursing from UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing in 2004. I then went on to get my Bachelors of Science and Nursing from Capella University. I achieved my Master’s in Leadership and Administration from Capella University.

1.UPMC Magee Woman’s Hospital-
5300 Med-Surgical/Step-Down- July 2004-May 2005
Magee Emergency Department- May 2005- October 2021. I was a senior nurse leader for 17 years, used TeleTracking to place patients and transport and to make sure they were admitted to the proper units, precepted new hires and students. I was chairperson of the Employee Recognition Committee, served on the Code Response Committee, and was the head nurse on the care plan committee.
2.UPMC Corporate Services- UPMC Health Nurse Float
October 2021- March 2022- I floated to different UPMC Hospitals and did employee physicals for new hires and helped employees if they needed any accommodation for their jobs.
3.UPMC Passavant Hospital –
Senior Administrator on Duty March 2022- May 2023. I was responsible for the whole hospital and all of the operations at night. I did staffing for the whole hospital, and used TeleTracking to build the operating room schedules, assign beds, run reports, and mark the discharged for the next morning. I was co-chair for the Off shift, Weekend, Late shift committee (OWL).
4.UPMC Magee Woman’s Hospital-
Senior Administrator on Duty May 2023- currently. Responsible for day-to-day hospital operations, safe staffing ratios for all units while following budget plans that are in place. Placing patients, and hospital transfers into beds using TeleTracking. Help with capacity management and placing OR patients, direct admits, and emergency room patients. I am the liaison between UPMC hospitals, doctors, nurses, and hospital staff for transfers from other networks and hospitals. I also help with any computer difficulties. I am part of the peer new hiring process. I interview nurses that hope to be hired at UPMC Magee.
