Earned a series of promotions during extended tenure with the National Weather Service, which included 13 years in supervisory roles and two years managing an NWS office. Researched climatology to support local weather forecasts. Briefed local, state and government agencies on severe weather events (floods, snowstorms, tornados, hail storms and others). Managed 5-7 technicians and interns. Trained numerous employees in all the functions of the NWS. Was the lead on all aspects of customer service, both internal and external. The position entailed multiple interviews of school age children across the country ranging from the 1st through 12th grades. I Deployed in early February to my first assignment in Grangeville, Id.. The program was shut down in March as a result of the Pandemic.
