Work Experience

AngloGold Asanti Iduapriem Mine (Internship) May 2011 to August 2011

I observed the movements of the trucks and shovels on the mine's dispatch system at the dispatch office and field which was used for my Bachelor’s thesis.

AngloGold Asanti Iduapriem Mine (National Service) Sept. 2013 to August 2014

This was a training program. We were scheduled to visit all the main sections of the mine.

At Geotechnical - We did core logging on about one hundred drilled cores boxes. We also observed how the mine's water level is checked and monitored. Lastly, we observed how the pit walls are cleaned and how it is been monitored from the office.

At Geology - We observed reversed circulation drilling and bagged samples for grade analysis.

At Survey - We took the measure me of blast holes before each blast and after surveyed the blasted materials to know the movement of the ore and waste before the equipment are brought for mining.

At Mineral Processing - We observed how carbonization is done.

At Environment - We observed how mine water is treated.

At Mining - We were assigned the task of conducting a truck and shovel analysis on the pit to eliminate idling time. We also observed how short-term planning is done using Microsoft Excel. We also observed how blast samples are analyzed using a basketball and a water bottle.
