Profile

With over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, I am an experienced petroleum geologist with expertise in worldwide oil and gas exploration projects, ranging from regional to prospect-scale evaluation. I have a strong background in practical and research aspects of petroleum systems and basin analysis.

Throughout my career, I have extensively utilized GIS applications such as ESRI ArcGIS (through version 10.4) and QGIS for surface and subsurface mapping, as well as data management purposes. I am proficient in R, Python, and SQL, with a focus on using R for data processing, analysis, and visualization. Additionally, I have around 3 years of experience working on migration projects within a GIS platform, and I have been involved in a GIS platform's transition to a new data model.

In recent projects, I have been actively engaged in various data processing initiatives, including parsing, cleaning, and repairing state well data files. One notable example is working with the Texas Railroad Commission wellbore database, a complex packed ASCII file consisting of over 25,000,000 rows and 28 data tables. By utilizing R and Python, I parsed and cleaned the data tables. Additionally, I have developed land maps showing oil and gas leases in Texas, as well as database creation and analysis from other regions such as Oklahoma, New Mexico, Louisiana, North Dakota, and Wyoming.

Furthermore, I have produced map-based petroleum systems models for multiple basins and geologic formations, including the Bakken, Anadarko, Permian, Wyoming Big Horn, Wind River, Powder River, Greater Green River, Eagle Ford, and Haynesville gas play. These models have been developed for various clients, providing comprehensive insights into the geologic and hydrocarbon potential of these regions.

In addition to my geologic expertise, I have approximately 2 years of experience with MS Project, a project management software widely used in various industries. This experience has allowed me to effectively plan and manage projects, allocate resources, and track progress.

In summary, my extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, coupled with my proficiency in data processing using R and Python, GIS applications such as ArcGIS and QGIS, and project management skills with MS Project, makes me a well-rounded expert in petroleum geology, data analysis, and project execution.
