Lonestar Specialty Vehicles (Texarkana, TX)

-Managed a team of seven staff members, overseeing receiving, quality control, purchasing, contract management, and contract negotiations for a startup with 50 employees. Handled a monthly purchasing budget of over $6M.

-Reduced individual cost per unit by over 10% within 12 months by visiting suppliers, renegotiating existing purchasing contracts, negotiating shipping contracts, and implementing Just-In-Time inventory practices.

Newly Weds Foods (Mount Pleasant, TX)

-Managed the purchasing department for a mid-size company with 300 employees, overseeing purchases of over $30M monthly.

-Reduced overall monthly ingredient costs by over $500K by shifting incoming traffic from trucking to rail. Thus requiring increased planning and constant diligence monitoring the inventory levels by everyone in the procurement division.

-Added a revenue stream by charging suppliers for ingredients that caused production issues or quality problems.

HomeTeam Inspection (Texarkana, TX)

-Conducted over 5000 home and commercial inspections during the ownership of this start-up company. Out team of inspectors inspected the following areas: the foundation, roof, roof structures, electrical, plumbing, and heating and air systems.

-Appointed to the Texas Real Estate Commission Inspectors’ Board overseeing all 2000 home inspectors in the State of Texas by the then Governor Rick Perry.

-Helped modify and write the Standards of Practice covering all areas of building inspection for the State of Texas. These are the primary set of guidelines that licensed Texas home inspectors must follow. They outline what is required during an inspection, including the scope of the inspection and how to report findings.

Project Manager 1/2001–1/2003

Owl’s Head Alloys, Inc. (Bowling Green, KY)

-Oversaw the construction from architectural drawings to the plant completion, then start-up of the $100M aluminum plant.

-Developed and implemented weekly production goals for all contractors. Oversaw all change orders to ensure financial accountability of every contractor.

-Completed the project without a lost time accident, on time, and under budget. The projected costs were cut by over 10 percent versus the projected budget while maintaining a safe quality facility.

-Managed all operational aspects of a secondary aluminum processing plant with over 100 employees.
