Cybersecurity Senior Team Lead

Manage, train, and cross train team of 18 junior/mid/senior cybersecurity analysts. It required a cultural shift to implement new DHS Zero Trust cybersecurity standards for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from purchasing to disposal of assets, systems and software.

Team delivers on-time results for several Statements of Work including CyberSecurity, Network Security, Security Reporting, Helpdesk operations Senior Database Administrators (DBA) and other supporting functions required to meet government deliverables and improve the Nation’s Cybersecurity.

Delivered quarterly government reporting data collection calls and analysis of trends involving extensive detail-oriented consolidation of disparate data into documents that could be presented to The White House, Congress and Congressional cybersecurity and House of Representatives financial Committees.

Established “Hot Wash” meeting to evaluate performance, deliver Kudos for excellent performers, reviewed documentation for needed edits after a deliverable was completed. Involved all team players to contribute to improve the ongoing processes. Customer gave positive feedback on this practice, and adopted it themselves.

DHS reporting covering implementation of President’s Executive Order cybersecurity standards, consisting of 640 data elements being measured to enhance cybersecurity across all government agencies.

Collected, validated, and analyzed cybersecurity reporting at DHS and it’s 11 Components. Consulted with submitters when needed. Set up exhaustive database to track ongoing performance and trends in cybersecurity.

Consolidated component data into usable reporting for key metrics such as Multi Factor Authentication (MFA), Encryption at Rest (EAR) and Encryption in Transit (EIT), Testing, Patching, Vulnerability and Resilience.
