Professional Summary:
I am a Chartered Environmentalist with the Society for the Environment (via the Institution of Environmental Sciences, UK), an Environmental Professional-in-Training with Eco-Canada, a practicing farmer, and a community-based titleholder—Ezeji Oha Ngwa ("King of Yams"). As a Professional Fellow of the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), I bring over 25 years of progressive experience in environmental management, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development.
Academically, I hold a Ph.D. in Forestry and Environmental Management, an M.Sc. in Environmental Management and Toxicology, an M.A. in Applied Community Change (with a focus on Conservation and Peacebuilding), and an Advanced Diploma in Technology and Sustainable Development.
Currently, I serve as the State Project Coordinator for the IFAD-funded Livelihood Improvement Family Enterprises – Niger Delta (LIFE-ND) project in Abia State, Nigeria, where I manage a $10 million integrated development initiative. Notably, I recently initiated and secured $167,000 in funding from GiftTrees UK and LIFE-ND Nigeria to support a large-scale tree planting project across the Niger Delta region.
With over 28 peer-reviewed publications, I have spent more than two decades working as an Independent Development Consultant, university lecturer, and collaborator on international environmental projects. I actively contribute to global sustainability dialogues, including serving as an official observer at the UNFCCC COP 28 in Dubai and COP 29 in Baku, representing the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES), UK.
