EXPERIENCE

Business Intelligence Analyst New York, NY

Outbrain MAR 2019 – JAN 2025

Partnered with the sales development team and acted as the BI lead throughout the full sales lifecycle, developing revenue models as part of the sales pitch, based on clients’ unique product mix and proposing strategies to drive revenue and protect the firm’s margin, resulting in 31 won new deals and 25 renewed partnerships, including Eurosport, Buzzfeed Japan, Fortune magazine, Slate, Immediate.co.uk, Dazn, Ansa Italy, CCM Benchmark, GEDI Group, Webedia Spain, News Corp AU, Le Parisien, LA Times, Drudge Report, Huffington Post, Newsweek Japan, Hello Magazine, Drudge Report, Penske Media, Digital Bloom, Newsweek, and more!

Led and developed model adjustments and optimizations, to improve prediction accuracy and support new product customization capabilities in forecasting performance of publishers globally

Partnered with data scientists in research and development and training of a machine learning model that would forecast publisher performance based on a set of most significant factors and similarities with other publishers in the network and ultimately reach a Mean error rate of 18%; Drew from my expertise in modeling and advised on business factors which impact performance; played a key role in developing the necessary data sets to train the model

Was the primary consulting analyst supporting the client reporting and initial performance tracking around the rollout of Outbrain’s Keystone, a product designed to unlock additional monetization channels (to support Publishers’ revenue diversification goals), such as sponsored partner content, eCommerce, publisher’s own offerings (subscriptions, premium content access), as well as user engagement vehicles (sign ups, newsletters, whitepapers, etc); and allow Publishers to optimize content based on goals prioritized by the Publisher whether it’s to drive traffic, conversions / sales, or engagement.

Researched, promoted, and prioritized product adoption opportunities for account managers to propose to their clients, such as adding feed experiences (that the publisher has not yet activated) and enabling AI-optimized feed length; Demonstrated potential revenue impact from adding experiences and removing blockers, such as blocks on content

Created a map view that shows Outbrain's geographical footprint and measures demand from all countries, with important indicators to gauge demand such as fill rate, AVG advertiser bid rate and price, audience size / new audience reach, languages demand, number of Outbrain demand partners, types of Supply partnerships (programmatic / SSPs, direct Outbrain network, OEM / mobile), total request volume, etc). Country managers could then use the map to identify countries where we have sufficient demand and projected revenue, set price floor for Advertisers per geo, and ramp up onboarding in those markets.

Developed a profiling tool of all Publishers that would fetch and consolidate strategic intel on each publisher, such as top audience markets, measures of user engagement, session metrics, fill rate, demand in different languages, top advertiser types, market share of won ads, ability to convert, international ads vs. local, membership in whitelists targeted by top brands, product adoption tracking, top published content categories, top ad categories, propensity to block content or be blocked by advertisers, user reach, etc.

Was an active contributor to the research on quarterly trends for the management’s quarterly business reviews (QBR) and supported the Chief Finance Officer on revenue reporting for the quarterly earnings reporting

Developed a playbook for Account Managers to be able to diagnose and explain changes in RPM (main KPI of a Publisher’s ability to effectively generate revenue from 1,000 impressions); devised a guide for pinpointing factors, such as shifting audience behaviors or changes in general traffic impacting the network as a whole versus idiosyncratic factors specific to the client, changes in demand mix/marketer spend, changes in reader environment (user devices used for consuming content, viewability issues, integration issues with specific widgets / ad products), etc. Counterparty Risk Analyst New York, NY
