Hello Pakana Patient Service,
My name is Terrence Shirai and I am interested in working for your company I would like to apply for your Courier (full-time) position. My wife and family moved to Maui in 1994. We were originally from Oahu and we decided to come to Maui to care for my wife's grandmother. My hobbies include fishing, camping, snorkeling, and exercising to keep in shape. The following is a list of employers that I worked for on Maui.
1/25/2024 to present: VIP Trans Inc. I am a full-time van driver. Job duties include picking up airline flight crews and regular passengers from the airport and transporting them to their hotels, and back to the airport for their next flight out. The pay is minimal and we get paid for only those times when the van is moving. There are a lot of times when we sit for hours waiting for the next runs to pursue.
6/21/2013 to 1/18/2024: Maui Economic Opportunity, Inc. I was a paratransit ADA driver. Duties included transporting persons with disabilities to and from doctor's appointments, shopping, and other outings and home. It was a fun and exciting job that allowed me to meet and get to know different people every day. Over the years, the hours we were required to put in went from 10 to 12 hours a day, five to six days a week. Although I enjoyed working here, the time spent away from home became a burden on me and my family and that is why I decided to look for another job.
Feb/2007 to Sep/2009: Maui Dive Shop. I first worked as a store manager for the South Kihei stores and transferred to Lahaina to manage the stores at the Whalers Village, Cannery Mall and the Lahaina Gateway. Duties included retail sales, activity sales, and the general upkeep of each store. In 2009 there was a downturn in the economy and I was laid off due to lack of work.
July/1996 to Feb/2007: Kaahumanu Theatres. I started as an assistant manager and then becoming the general manager in 2003. Duties included overseeing the operations of the business and providing excellent customer service through coaching and training. Throughout the state and nationwide overall, customer attendance in this business was slowing down. I left the theatre to work for Maui Dive Shop.
Liberty House: 1994 to July/1996: My first job on Maui. Worked as a sales clerk in the Men's Dept.
Duties included retail sales, displaying of merchandise on shelves and racks, upkeep of the department and providing excellent customer service. I left to work at the Kaahumanu Theatres.
This is a brief summary of my history on Maui. I look forward to hearing from you. You can contact me on my cellphone #808-***-****, or email address: ***********@******.**.***
Thank you,
Terrence Shirai
