Stamps.com is the leading provider of Internet-based mailing and shipping solutions.

As a Database Team Lead, I am responsible for working primarily with development and operations teams to help Stamps.com stakeholders grow the business.

Engineered and managed an enterprise-wide migration of SQL databases to AWS, with minimum downtime to the databases, jobs, replication, etc.

Implemented Always On Availability Groups in AWS, enabling high availability and disaster recovery for critical database workloads.

Configured EC2 servers with appropriate instance types, EBS volumes and IOPS to achieve good cost-performance balance.

Optimized processes, stored procedures, SSIS packages to improve performance.

Created documentation for maintenance and orientation procedures, uplifting the team's competencies and ensuring a seamless knowledge transfer.

Tagged.com has acquired another social media company, Hi5.com. I worked on a project to migrate the Hi5 data (~5TB), that resided in SQL Server 2008 R2 database servers (60 servers) to Oracle 10G servers . Also participated in production support for the SQL servers.

• Created SSIS packages and staging databases, to use data from these sources instead of linked servers and reduced the running time significantly for the nightly running processes.

Database Engineer Molina Healthcare, 1/2008 –2/2010 Long Beach, California, USA

Designed and implemented a solution that will restore production copy of the databases to test servers automatically with an option to use LightSpeed, SQL jobs, stakeholders, mount points, keeping the existing users, roles and permissions that saved lots of dba hours.

Designed and implemented a job scheduler system, which will kick start jobs when the resources specific to that job are not exhausted, thus preventing job failures and performance problems during the night.

Optimized nightly running processes and procedures to reduce the time and resources they took from the system and saved 1st and 2nd level work hours.

Worked with 1st level management to select which SCOM alerts to go to which level of dba team, found solutions to prevent false alert generation, reduced the number of tickets from hundreds to tens a day and saved work hours that were wasted to close these tickets.

Leaded a project for migration of the databases from SQL2000 to SQL2005.
