Data Analyst Clean Energy

Dear Representative Ayanna Pressley,

My name is Saathvik, and I’m a resident of Cambridge, MA in your district. I work as a data analyst with John Hancock, and I’m deeply invested in the health of our environment and the future we’re building for the next generation.

First, thank you for your leadership on climate policy and for supporting the Inflation Reduction Act. That legislation was a huge step forward. But to fully realize its potential, we need to speed up the rollout of clean energy infrastructure.

That’s why I’m writing today: to urge you to support and advance clean energy permitting reform.

Right now, we face a bottleneck. Projects that could lower emissions, create jobs, and deliver reliable clean power are stuck in slow, outdated permitting processes. If we’re serious about hitting our climate targets, we can’t afford these delays. Permitting reform doesn’t mean cutting corners—it means modernizing our approach, so we can build the future we need, faster. Without it, much of the progress from the Inflation Reduction Act could remain on paper instead of powering our communities. Climate change is already impacting our lives through extreme weather, rising costs, and growing uncertainty. I see it, and I know you do too. We need bold, forward-looking action now more than ever.

Please work with your colleagues in Congress to make clean energy permitting reform a reality. The climate can’t wait—and neither can we.
