The Friends of Pleasant Grove Board President 2021 to present (Member since 2016) Oversee the Board, an Executive Director, volunteers, programming, and the overall operations of Historic Pleasant Grove Church & Museum, an historic site in Fairfax County, Virginia, built in 1885 by and for African and Native Americans. The Friends of Pleasant Grove is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to preserving the landmark Gothic Carpenter style structure and the stories of the founders and descendants who built and attended the church. Currently also managing pro bono counsel for title issues; National Register nomination; exhibitions; Boy Scout Eagle Projects; budget, advancement, programming, and collaboration with Fairfax County Park Authority. Georgetown University Procurement Legal Advisor for Capital Contracts 2024-2025 Staff attorney working with a small team to manage contracts for more than one hundred capital construction projects on the hilltop and city center campuses. Responsible for planning, advising, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including AIA and construction contracts valued in hundreds of millions of dollars. Developed strong relationships with primary stakeholders and raised conflicts and ethical issues.
National Trust for Historic Preservation AGC & Director of Contracts 2021-2024 Associate General Counsel responsible for planning, advising, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including all AIA/construction, operating, and IT contracts; reviewing all Federal and State grant applications and agreements; updating and maintaining Procurement SOPs; managing compliance with Federal and State grants (2 CFR 200); managing the approval/authorization process with Executive Team; teaching contracts training to personnel; overseeing the Request for Proposal processes; as well as assisting with legal advocacy and general corporate matters. Researched and drafted opinions, worked closely with the clerk’s office and other judges managing the four criminal and civil domestic violence calendars from intake through disposition and posttrial matters.
