Professional Experience
PNC Bank, Fully Remote May 2022 – April 2025
Software Engineer Lead
Maintained batch and online programs for the Genesis application, a major banking application for PNC Bank being replaced. Created multiple Db2 views to access and extract information from the Genesis database and customizing views to meet specific data extraction requirements. Transferred data to the Edge application via NDM.
Maintained Batch/JCL and CICS online programs for the Genesis real time banking application.
Created customized Db2 views and Cobol programs to extract data from the Genesis database.
Completed the decommissioning of the Genesis application, a major banking application for PNC Bank
While maintaining the Genesis environment we monitored the MQs that communicated with other applications
The main objective was to ensure the customer information in the db2 database was available for the new applications replacing Genesis.
For each application group a unique db2 view was required to be created along with an application Cobol program accessing that view. Numerous programs were written in one year by me to extract db2 data and utilizing NDM to push the data to the existing application.
Agile/Scrum meetings were held daily to resolve outstanding issues
All programs were Unit and volume tested before sending data downstream
QA teams validated the results by entering the data in the Genesis application
Used Changeman and Servicenow to promote all changes to the production environment.
One of my task was to extract the results from the database to assist QA in their validation
The downstream application group validated the data before signing off.
