Utilized positive reinforcement to motivate students. Requested as substitute teacher based on excellent referrals and trusted performance.
Served as a mentor for new substitute teachers when necessary. Implemented behavior management strategies to maintain classroom discipline. Established positive relationships with parents to ensure effective communication regarding student progress and well-being.
Every P.E. Student received a positive phone call home, and was honored as one of the "Students of the Week", during the school year. Collaborated with colleagues to plan lessons that integrate various subject areas into a cohesive unit of study. (Bringing classroom strategies into the gym.) As a P.E. Teacher, I was asked to help write the District's Math Curriculum for Summer School.
Was voted "Teacher of the Year" at my campus, under three different administrations, while working as a Coach in the gym. Our team's student-athletes excelled in the classroom and on the course. Our golf team had the highest GPA of any team that participated in sports at the school.
We had golfers qualify for The Regional Tournament every year. We won five District Championships and placed second twice during my coaching tenure there.
Was part of a highly successful Basketball program that achieved multiple awards and accomplishments.
The team was ranked as high as No. 4 in the state of Texas, winning a city record of 34 games in a row.
