Inspected various installations within the State of New York to ensure compliance with plans prepared and filed by licensed Professional Engineers. Prepared daily reports for the equipment found on site. Left because of a family emergency that required my presence in California for an extended period of time.

March 2006 to January 2008 - Attorney, temporary assignment, “on loan” from the NYC DEP.
Responsible for drafting a revised NYC Building Code as part of the “Model Code Program.” The purpose of this revision was to bring about changes as recommended by attorneys, engineers, contractors, and other interested parties so that the new code would reflect modern construction methods as of July 2008. Prepared a comparison of the proposed code and current Building Code for submission to the City Council, as a part of a memorandum in support of proposed legislation. Answered inquiries from engineering firms regarding Building Code interpretation.

July 1991 to March 2006, January 2008 to March 2012 - Assistant Section Head
Reviewed cases heard by the Environmental Control Board of the City of New York (ECB). Prepared replies to Freedom of Information Law requests served on the DEP. Submitted technical documentation to the NYC Corporation Counsel’s office for the defense of CPLR Article 78 proceedings brought against the DEP. Worked on proposed revisions to the New York City Air Pollution Control Code, the New York City Building Code, and the Rules of the City of New York relating to the DEP.
Reviewed applications for equipment acceptance from manufacturers that applied to install fuel oil burning equipment in New York City by ensuring that the proposed equipment was acceptable in accordance with the legal and technical requirements of the various codes of the City of New York applicable to the installation of the equipment. Assumed the managerial duties of the section head during his absence.
