Sam Malmberg is an experienced project manager with over ten years of experience in the management of foreign aid activities. As a senior project manager, he oversees MSI’s activities in South Sudan, Somalia, and Zambia. Previously, Sam supported US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) to assess, monitor, and evaluate its Security Cooperation (SC) activities with Mexico and the Bahamas. He worked closely with SC personnel across US, Mexican, and Bahamian militaries to educate and teach best practices in monitoring, indicator development, and assessments.
As a senior project manager at QED Group, Mr. Malmberg managed the Home Office project management team which provided FAR/AIDAR compliance support, budget management, procurement, personnel recruitment, and technical quality assurance for QED’s portfolio of several multi-million-dollar Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and implementation programs, including USAID’s largest mission-wide M&E program – The Uganda Learning Activity - which was responsible for monitoring and evaluating a portfolio of aid activities valued at $400 M throughout the country. He also has an array of experience working in extremely difficult environments throughout Africa and the Middle East and supported the home office management of several USAID contracts implemented in crisis and transitioning environments including Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Central African Republic, and Syria.
