TECHNICAL SKILLS
Responsible for maintenance of the milk lab and preparation of infant feedings. The technician is responsible for collection, storage, and inventory of breast milk. They prepare the breast milk and formula daily according to orders, recipes, and department policies. The technician is responsible for cleaning and stocking the milk lab and reports to the Milk Lab Manager.
Laboratory management. Samples tracking, storage, and keeping records; preparation of reagents and solutions; ordering chemicals and laboratory supplies. Maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels, and minimizing waste. Maintaining, calibration, servicing, and basic repair of laboratory equipment. Conducting safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement safety measures to ensure a safe working environment. Participating in laboratory accreditation and certification processes to ensure compliance with national and international standards.
Experimentation. Developing and validating laboratory methods, procedures, and protocols to ensure accuracy and reproducibility of results. Experiment planning and interpretation of results. Participating in clinical trials. Writing, modifying, and following Standard Operating Procedures. Data recording and maintaining confidentiality.
