PROJECT INFLUENCE OF EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS ON THE CAPACITY AND LOAD RATING ANALYSIS OF AGED RAILWAY BRIDGE

The UK has very big railway network. The network includes number of old bridges that were constructed in 19th century. And from past few decades the atmosphere is changing very rapidly. The aim of this study is to analysis the load caring capacity of aged railway bridge in extreme weather conditions, on the Windsor Railway Bridge, UK. This research involved some steps: analyzing the loading on the bridge and different atmospheric changes which might be occur in the future. The FEA results displayed that different members of bridge are facing high stress under different atmospheric conditions. With the assumptions of climate changes and FEA modelling, the bridge is suddenly failed in the extreme weather conditions such as Flash flood or Windstorm and it will also fail after some time in extreme hot and extreme cold weather condition. The failure mode and response of the aged railway bridge in different weather conditions are studied in this paper.

Experimental study on pervious concrete by using silica fume & Fly Ash The motto of this project was to provide environmental benefits by collecting rainwater and other surface runoff under the concrete pavement, parking areas, manholes etc. and allow it to flow into natural water bodies. The other objective was to reduce the cost of construction pavement, concrete roads/ parking, etc. using waste products. The project consisted to use the raw materials (i.e., silica fume & fly ash) forming in industries which increase the disposable cost. We used these waste materials as a binding agent in concrete and get the approximate acceptable strength of concrete. In this project we construct 60 concrete blocks with Indian Standers (IS) in which we divide them into 4 sets. Where each set had different Mix proportions and was tested in a “Compression Testing Machin” after 7, 14 & 28 days of curing. And the results were evaluated, and the best final ratios were taken.
