ROLES AND RESPOSNIBILITIES
Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business objectives to achieve cost savings, enhance efficiency, and ensure a continuous supply of necessary goods and services. Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, pricing, reliability, and delivery timelines. Negotiate pricing and manage long-term vendor relationships to secure favorable terms. Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock, utilizing just-in-time (JIT) inventory techniques to minimize holding costs and improve cash flow.
Draft, review, and manage contracts, purchase agreements, and service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards while mitigating risks. Drive cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, bulk purchasing, and vendor partnerships. Monitor procurement budgets and identify opportunities for cost efficiency without compromising quality. Conduct spend analysis, market research, and supplier performance evaluations. Generate regular reports to present procurement metrics, supplier scorecards, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) for management review.
Collaborate closely with internal departments, such as finance, operations, and logistics, to align procurement activities with overarching business objectives and support seamless project execution. Lead, train, and mentor procurement team members. Delegate tasks efficiently, foster a collaborative work environment, and support the professional development of the team. Assess supplier risk and maintain contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain. Conduct regular audits of suppliers to ensure adherence to established standards and compliance. Stay informed about market trends, commodity prices, and demand forecasts to adjust procurement strategies as needed, thereby avoiding potential price increases or shortages. Ensure accurate documentation of procurement processes, purchase orders, contracts, and supplier data in the Management Information System (MIS) for easy retrieval and audit purposes.
