● I played a pivotal role as the Staff Software Engineer at Dremio, leading the Performance team during the challenging startup phase. I specialized in competitive benchmarking, TCO benchmarking, and establishing a performance-first mindset within the engineering team. My expertise in performance/scalability, sizing, perf tools and analysis led to the identification of product gaps ( results cache, Agg. Reflections ) and the implementation of new Dremio Visual Profile features for improved productivity.

● Helped in stabilizing Dremio product during its early startup release phase

, update them on competitive/TCO Benchmarking, provide content for All Hands, different company events.

● Benchmarked Dremio on different Intel chipsets. Intel has published a technical white paper on their website for which I am a co-author. Before publication, this benchmark had to pass rigorous audits from Intel specialists teams.

● Collaborated with the marketing team to help them publish blogs on Dremio website.

● I have good knowledge of Apache Iceberg. I have created huge TPCDS iceberg non-partitioned and partition datasets ~ 300TB for TPCDS Query benchmarking on Dremio, Databricks, Snowflake, Starburst and Trino. In addition, for internal performance tests, I have custom created partitioned iceberg data sets to evaluate different features of Dremio like metadata refresh, reflections, query optimization and query execution.

● Apache iceberg was also used to evaluate the DML features of Dremio to ensure ACID compliance.

● I have familiarity with Datalakes & some internal knowledge about their architectures like storage, query optimization, query acceleration, scalability
