April 2024 – Current, CelerTerk, (Hilton Resorts)

In my role as a Data Architect at Hilton Resorts Corporation, I spearheaded the development of a robust data processing pipeline, leveraging Lambda functions, Glue, Athena, and Redshift to handle massive datasets efficiently and accurately. By optimizing data parsing and storage, I significantly improved data accessibility and query performance for analysts, leading to enhanced decision-making capabilities within the organization.

July 2023 – March 2024, Brixton consulting (Liberty Energy, Co)

In my role as a Senior Data Engineer at Liberty Energy, I specialized in cloud database development, utilizing Oracle, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Google Cloud. I designed Python-based ETL processes and automated workflows with Airflow, streamlining data management and enhancing efficiency.

June 2022 – July 2023 CipherTooth, UT

Sr. Database Developer and programmer, CipherTooth used AWS EC2 servers to host VPN servers that use a patented encryption algorithm called R3. We collected usage data that was stored in an Aurora database, reports, tracking, web interface, etc. CipherTooth produced a LAN Defense device to detect Man in The Middle (MITM) attacks on internal Local Area Networks, databases, web interfaces, reports, etc. CipherTooth also sells a VPN that is stronger than HTTPS, PKI based VPNs. and I set up the AWS Aurora database for customers and their purchased packages.

Sept 2021 – May 2022 Bay One (Shipt, Birmingham, Al)

Sr. ETL Developer, Shipt imports inventory, products, images, from grocery chains daily, Shipt delivered products selected from their app to the user’s address. I used Python to customize an in-house object-oriented import tool to store data in varying formats on S3 buckets. Restful APIs pulled from some stores. The imports and API pulls were scheduled using Airflow. I also designed imports into Snowflake using S3 to import the data tables into a new schema.

Sept 2019 – Sept 2021 Church of Jesus Christ, Riverton, Ut

In my role as an ETL Engineer level 5 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I played a key role in evaluating and implementing DBT for our hybrid AWS & Azure environments. This decision improved our data warehouse documentation process and efficiency. I led the Redshift development on AWS and set up pipelines in DevOps on Azure, enhancing security measures and automation processes.

Jul 2017 – April 2019 Younique, Lehi, UT

As a Senior ETL Developer at Younique Products in Lehi, UT, I utilized Pentaho, EC2, and Python to build a data warehouse in Redshift and data-marts in Aurora. I optimized processes, built a reporting system for improved dependability, reduced latency, and ensured data accuracy through Restful API integrations, optimization, and stored procedures.

Contract Developer, Developed an API in PHP for CipherTooth’s R3 Encryption and MITM. The API used a MySQL database and was delivered on a thumb drive or zip a file that will contain a version of XAMPP, that can be loaded on a computer and supply a working demonstration, a working API to Code against as well as documentation, and the ability to test the encryption and the MITM detection.

Dec 2015 – Dec 2016 ConnexionPoint, Murray, UT

In my role as a Senior ETL Developer at ConnexionPoint Business Solutions, I led the design and implementation of a HIPPA compliant data-warehouse, building an in-house ETL tool for data migration from CallPro. I successfully scaled up the ETL process to cover data imports from seven different companies, achieving a record speed of moving 2.3 million records in just 26 seconds.

As a Senior Data Warehouse Developer, Using MS SQL server, SSIS, I built a medical claims workflow processing system that spanned four countries using parameter driven processes. I developed a web-based system for entering letters unintelligible to OCR programs. I wrote a data import program, which imported records from a legacy COBOL system; the import ran in less than a third the time for the previous import, while handling twice the data on the same hardware as the prior process.
