WORK EXPERIENCE
April 2024 – Current, CelerTerk, (Hilton Resorts)
In my role as a Data Architect at Hilton Resorts Corporation, I spearheaded the development of a robust data processing pipeline, leveraging Lambda functions, Glue, Athena, and Redshift to handle massive datasets efficiently and accurately. By optimizing data parsing and storage, I significantly improved data accessibility and query performance for analysts, leading to enhanced decision-making capabilities within the organization.
July 2023 – March 2024, Brixton consulting (Liberty Energy, Co)
In my role as a Senior Data Engineer at Liberty Energy, I specialized in cloud database development, utilizing Oracle, PostgreSQL, AWS, and Google Cloud. I designed Python-based ETL processes and automated workflows with Airflow, streamlining data management and enhancing efficiency.
June 2022 – July 2023 CipherTooth, UT
Sr. Database Developer and programmer, CipherTooth used AWS EC2 servers to host VPN servers that use a patented encryption algorithm called R3. We collected usage data that was stored in an Aurora database, reports, tracking, web interface, etc. CipherTooth produced a LAN Defense device to detect Man in The Middle (MITM) attacks on internal Local Area Networks, databases, web interfaces, reports, etc. CipherTooth also sells a VPN that is stronger than HTTPS, PKI based VPNs. and I set up the AWS Aurora database for customers and their purchased packages.
Sept 2021 – May 2022 Bay One (Shipt, Birmingham, Al)
Sr. ETL Developer, Shipt imports inventory, products, images, from grocery chains daily, Shipt delivered products selected from their app to the user’s address. I used Python to customize an in-house object-oriented import tool to store data in varying formats on S3 buckets. Restful APIs pulled from some stores. The imports and API pulls were scheduled using Airflow. I also designed imports into Snowflake using S3 to import the data tables into a new schema.
Sept 2019 – Sept 2021 Church of Jesus Christ, Riverton, Ut
In my role as an ETL Engineer level 5 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I played a key role in evaluating and implementing DBT for our hybrid AWS & Azure environments. This decision improved our data warehouse documentation process and efficiency. I led the Redshift development on AWS and set up pipelines in DevOps on Azure, enhancing security measures and automation processes.
Jul 2017 – April 2019 Younique, Lehi, UT
As a Senior ETL Developer at Younique Products in Lehi, UT, I utilized Pentaho, EC2, and Python to build a data warehouse in Redshift and data-marts in Aurora. I optimized processes, built a reporting system for improved dependability, reduced latency, and ensured data accuracy through Restful API integrations, optimization, and stored procedures.
Dec 2016 – July 2017 CipherTooth, American Fork, UT
Contract Developer, Developed an API in PHP for CipherTooth’s R3 Encryption and MITM. The API used a MySQL database and was delivered on a thumb drive or zip a file that will contain a version of XAMPP, that can be loaded on a computer and supply a working demonstration, a working API to Code against as well as documentation, and the ability to test the encryption and the MITM detection.
Dec 2015 – Dec 2016 ConnexionPoint, Murray, UT
In my role as a Senior ETL Developer at ConnexionPoint Business Solutions, I led the design and implementation of a HIPPA compliant data-warehouse, building an in-house ETL tool for data migration from CallPro. I successfully scaled up the ETL process to cover data imports from seven different companies, achieving a record speed of moving 2.3 million records in just 26 seconds.
Feb 2013 – Dec 2015 Sub Contractor, American Fork, UT
As Lead Developer, I spearheaded the development of cutting-edge security systems to protect streaming data From snooping, capture or copy.
Dec 2008 – Feb 2013 AutomaticallyYou, American Fork, UT
In my role as CEO/Lead Developer at AutomaticallyYou, I spearheaded the development of a Delphi client to automate web interactions with popular services like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Aug 2003 – Feb 2004 Affiliated Computer Services (ACS), Draper, UT (Contracting)
As a Senior Data Warehouse Developer, Using MS SQL server, SSIS, I built a medical claims workflow processing system that spanned four countries using parameter driven processes. I developed a web-based system for entering letters unintelligible to OCR programs. I wrote a data import program, which imported records from a legacy COBOL system; the import ran in less than a third the time for the previous import, while handling twice the data on the same hardware as the prior process.
