Proton Bakers is a Zimbabwean bakery which is
based in Marondera. It is an FMCG sector
company supplying bread and confectioneries. As
a maintenance electrician, some of the tasks
include:
• implementing, studying, and suggesting
corrective measures on waste
segregation, disposal of oils and
chemicals.
• interpreting material safety data sheet to
subordinates
• Creating checklists to identify dangerous
materials, potential hazards, and unsafe
business practices in the workplace
• -participate in continuous improvement of
environmental management systems to
ISO 14001
• Walking through workspaces and
analyzing working conditions to make
suggestions for improvements for
enhanced safety
• Carrying out risk assessment and
upholding workplace safety in compliance
with ISO 45001
• Hands on electrical and electronic
maintenance of productive plant assets
and urgently attending to electrical
breakdowns and emergency scenario
requirements.
• Actively and timely
communicating/reporting of productive
plant status and/or filling in of job reports
on applicable records and submission to
superiors.
• Ensuring that productive plant equipment
and lighting are kept in safe working
conditions that enable meeting of set
performance targets and IEE standards.
• Reading and interpreting electrical wiring
diagrams and manuals,
troubleshooting/investigation of causes of
productive plant failures, formulate,
propose and action ideas to improve
throughput efficiency.
• Providing effective on the job cross
functional training.
• Attending to team talks/meetings and
making contributions that assist to meet
the departments key performance
indicators.
• Report promptly to management any
faults that require their attention.
• Participating in project appraisal and
related feasibility study evaluations.
• Practicing good housekeeping of plant,
workshop, and associated tools.
• Installation/repair of electrical components
such as AC VSDs, PLCs, AC and DC
motors, PSUs, HMIs, switchgear, steam,
pneumatic and hydraulic equipment.
