Conducting the preprocessing stage of 3D models using 3D Blender software and a program written in Python to convert the model files into the correct format for the algorithm to perform mesh optimization. Implementing the Error Quadric algorithm for simplifying the polygonal mesh surface of the 3D models so that the number of polygons on the model is decreased, hence reducing the file size useful for mobile and web applications without altering the form and characteristics of the model.

Utilizing AR capabilities, create a mobile app that operates on the Android OS and is integrated with Unity and Vuforia. Creating a website for the purpose of showcasing 3D models via the embed widget from a sketchfab. Further refinement of a prior graduate thesis, the aim of the new contribution is enhancing 3D models captured using the LiDAR sensor of an iPhone. They mainly employ one technique which is Error Quadric, this is supported by comparisons with other techniques like Fast Quadric. This effectively demonstrates the advantages and limitations of the Error Quadric method and prepares the stage for other related future endeavors.
