Work Experience
Machine Operator
Best Bev-Waverly, NY
March 2024 to August 2024
I was machine operator my job was to make sure my line had cans on it and my line was always running basically my machine could fit three pallets of cans on it the cans are empty. After they would get put on the line one pallet of cans would go in the machine and would be taken up the hoist. The machine itself with the sweep would clamp the cans and push them out on to the conveyor belt and down the line. Any crushed cans or damaged cans or anything like that would get thrown in a big bin down a shoot and when the bin is full we would take the bin to the back and dump it in a big dumpster. Also before than cans can go in the machine there a banding wrapped around the pallets that have to be cut off so they don’t get tangled up in the machine and make it have a fault to were the machine won’t run at all and it completely stops until the problem is fixed. I would also help other people on other machines when I was able to but that’s only if I wasn’t busy and usually my machine was the first machine to be done with cans so when my machine was clear at the end of the run I was able to take bins with cardboard in them back to the crusher I was also able to take bins of cans back to the dumpsters. But other than that my job was really easy other than that it was usually busy or boring. Lumber Stacker
CC Allis-Rome, PA
April 2023 to July 2023
• In my previous job my responsibilities were to stack lumber at a local saw mill. Which also included having to dry out wood and treat it.
• Another main job of mine was deliveries, which consisted of loading the truck in the morning with countertops, doors, cabinets, etc.
• One skill they taught me was how to operate and manage a fork lift. I would use the fork lift to move and stack lumber.
• Along with the saw mill there was a store with a min office, it sold everything from hardware to paint. We also sold saw dust, wood chips, doors, etc.
