Working using the skills and ABA therapies I learned acquiring my RBT including EP Behavior and Gateway Learning Group and for private families, developing behavior plans and interventions for developmentally and emotionally challenged adolescents and children (ages 6-18). I speak conversational Spanish and can effectively communicate but am not fully fluent. I currently work for Sunrise ABA. My people skills include effective communication, advocacy, sound decision making, customer service and attentiveness. I work well with a team or on my own and enjoy a good working relationship with my coworkers, clients, and employer. I can go into a home environment and conduct strong work with clients suffering from a variety of behavioral and developmental issues. My degree in psychology and work as a graduate student in counseling help to round out my skill set working in mental health.

Provided 1:1 instruction to children with unique learning needs using Applied Behavior Analysis and CBT techniques. Teaching new skills such as communication, imitation, motor, pre-academic and self-regulation, through fun and motivating lessons. Travelling to client’s home, school, or community location to provide services. Clients and coworkers would say I am efficient, creative, dependable, energetic, and fun; kids relate well with me, and I am not afraid to talk to parents about genuine issues. I have outstanding relationship and communication skills which helped me to navigate tough situations and cases. Earned my Registered Behavioral Tech License and began working more independently using the language of ABA to help my clients reach their goals and learn new coping strategies. Additionally, I regularly performed basic office skills, including copying, printing, preparing materials, making crafts, and laminating interventions for clients and staff.

Worked as a caregiver for a quadriplegic man, aged thirty-four, with developmental and physical issues who lived with his parents. I assisted with his daily routine, including food prep, and feeding assistance, aiding him in transportation, helping him in the restroom and we always with basic functioning and fine motor skills. We worked with specialized software to improve his communication and writing, working on resumes and on selling items on craigslist for his parents as a way for him to earn income. I learned a lot about caretaking and the joy of helping another person complete their goals. My enthusiasm and dedication helped me in this job.

Performed supervision, support, and instruction to individuals with developmental diagnoses. Assisting my clients in working out in the community, time in our on-site media lab, overseeing production of piece rate jobs for participants, time in our on-site garden, community visits, community litter clean-up and recycling center job supervision. I also learned how to work with all types of personality and developmental disorders, including Down syndrome and autism. I developed many important skills which included being trained in wheelchair practices, restroom aid, CPR/First Aid, medication administration, diabetes awareness. Experienced writing instructional plans, collecting data, and implementing behavioral plans is preferred, as well as task analysis, client assessment, and behavioral teaching techniques like ABA and de-escalation strategies.

-Compost and Waste Site Manager-
Responsible for overseeing the green waste and brush drop site. This included selling compost and receiving green waste. Duties also included operating bulldozer, loading compost into trucks, and unloading brush from incoming green waste loads. I also oversaw all transactions, kept the books for compost sales and oversaw all accounting. Dealing with the public was a big part of the job and interacting with people of various socioeconomic backgrounds was informative. I developed a newfound work ethic and environmental awareness. Dedication and an ability to embrace experiences outside my comfort zone enabled me to perform and excel in this job.
