CKF Addiction Treatment Center - McPherson, KS
July 2018 to May 2019
My role with our participants is to help them find their meaning and purpose in life, to establish, set, and achieve goals in their new lives in recovery. One of my priorities is to keep our participants moving forward and prospering in their lives. I meet with them individually once a week, in a group setting on Mondays from 4:30-, and I join the clinical groups throughout the week also. I also have 2 groups weekly in a video setting with participants all over western Kansas. We work together through all different stages; from homeless, active addicts searching for a way out to those that have six or more months in recovery and have met their basic necessities of housing, employment, and a renewed sense of self-worth. Change is one constant in life that we all share, but not all know how to handle. I work with them to find housing, clothing, employment, hygiene products, community services and resources, work on building family relationships, guidance on how to get custody of their children back, assistance in obtaining their license or buying a vehicle, link communication between medical and mental health providers. Something of my greatest importance is to help recovering addicts grow through their changes and carry out the remainder of their lives in long term recovery. Lead Addiction Technician
