I would strap the wood around those bunks so it could the wood. I would put pieces of carton at the edge of the wood where the strap would go around the top of the wood.

I would check the quality of wood using a crayon to check for holes. I would also check if the wood were unlevel. I would replace the strap when it needed to be

replaced.
