This position’s role is to help in the design, construction, and test before turnover of a 6 billion Dollar Uranium Processing Facility (UPF)
Responsibilities.
Responsibilities include the scoping of facility systems, review of vendor submittals, verifying the validity and accuracy of engineering design before final draft is comprised. I also work with the customer to work through any prerequisite needs involving the testing and any tie-ins into the existing systems pertaining to - Security, Network, Communication, and Instruments & Controls. I write and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as well as write and review test procedures that pertain to Security Systems, CCTV, Telecommunications, Networking and Instrumentation & Controls. I have the knowledge to break down larger systems to the component level in order to determine at what point a system needs to tie into an existing system in order to refine testing/scheduling/operational needs. I am also heavily involved in the design and programming of the Argus security system that is being implemented on the project.
Within this position I am also responsible for handling Work Authorization submittals, checking the request for validity of the information on the forms, making sure all appropriate permits are in place, the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is listed. I have also been trained for the Bechtel Procurement System (BPS). This function is for the research and procurement of necessary Measure and Test Equipment (M&TE) that will be utilized by the Startup Team.

Responsibilities.
This position included the running of a Vacuum Arc Re-Melter and a Vacuum Induction Melter. Within this process was the setup by verifying that the desired prerequisites and parameters are meet and recorded on a testing run sheet, preventive maintenance, loading and unloading of Depleted Uranium Electrodes into the Melter’s. Daily cleaning of the crucible and strike plate before any loading. Conducted vacuum tests to prevent any contamination of SNM. The preventive maintenance consisted of calibration of components, replacing of gauges, O-rings along with vacuum hoses. This position also consisted of trouble shooting any issues that may arise. Along with these duties came the responsibility of keeping any radiation exposure to a minimum and doing the shutdown process and bringing the system to a safe state.
Within this position I aided in the care of security system repairs and my knowledge of networked systems allowed me to become an in-house IT person.
The responsibilities also included taking care of all the managing the calibrations for equipment when needed, I also sought out, sent out bids, purchased, installed, and configured the maintenance software for the location.
Along with this I also took care of the phone system, computer setup and any other electronic equipment that needed attention.
