Directed the activities of 70 employees, including 4 supervisors, 1 utility

Engineer, and 51 highly skilled maintenance mechanics with an annual budget of $12 million, as well as 6 maintenance storeroom employees with an inventory of over $5 million.

Managed the utility system consisting of six 50,000 lb. per hour boilers which generate in excess of 800 million points of steam annually.

Major Accomplishments: As member of special task force, identified $5.3 million in cost reductions and a 25% reduction in headcount. In 1994, 1995, and 1996 controlled departmental costs with actual expenditures of $0.5 million below the established budget for the department. Justified and implemented a 12-person, in-house construction crew to bring in-house work typically performed by outside contractors which resulted in an average 30% reduction in construction costs and $0.5 million annual savings.
